Lotto Results. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto on Monday, 20th October were 1, 4, 5 and 7. The jackpot was not won this week. The four winners in the Lucky Dip were Tommy Byrne, Carrickmacross, P. J. Farrelly, Shercock, Philip Tinnelly, Kingscourt and The Lambe Family, Lisnaclea (D.D). The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday, 27th and the Jackpot will be 1,400 euro.
 
Senior League.  Magheracloone played the last home game of the senior league for 2014 in Inniskeen on Saturday evening. The opponents were Castleblayney, a team that were seeking the points in the race for the semi-final places. The Magheracloone turned in a strong performance for the full hour and claimed the points on offer with the final score reading   Magheracloone 1-10 and Castleblayney 0-10. With this victory the team moved into a comfortable mid-table position and can now look forward to planning for senior football in 2015. 
 
Cumann na mBunscoil Finals. Two schools from the parish were represented at the schools’ finals in Clontibret on Saturday last. First into action was Drumgossatt N.S. in the Division Five final versus Latnamard. The Magheracloone school got off to a great start and scored a number of excellent points in the opening half. As the game entered the final quarter Drumgossatt were still in the lead but two late goals from the Latnamard team ensured victory for their school and disappointment for the Magheracloone team. The Drumgossatt panel on duty for the final included Oran McMahon, Daniel McCahey Byrne, Keith Farnan, Joseph Coogan-Farrelly, Jake Patterson, Oisin Byrne, Tiarnan Mahon, Jack Carolan, Rory McMahon and Joshua Ogundimu.
 Scoil Bhride, Mullaghrafferty, won the Division Four competition for the fourth year in a row. The team defeated Threemilehouse on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-6. In a great all-round team performance from start to finish, the team led by 2-3 to 1-4 at half-time despite playing against a strong wind. Scoil Bhride continued to dominate in the second half and ran out convincing winners in the end. The team and scorers were: Eoghan Rooney, Dylan Fox, Dylan Farrelly, (0-2), Kyle Maguire, Joseph Kirk, (capt.) (1-2), Jayme Lambe, (1-3), Alan Mahon,(1-0), James Brennan, (0-2), Ben McConnon, Shay Duffy, Cormac Maguire, James Metzger, Oisin Babbington, Conor Carolan.
  
Under-14’s, Under- 16’s and Minors. Are you bored with the long winter evenings? Nothing to do? Well now you have!! Why not try and get the edge on your opponent next year by attending the club’s winter strength and conditioning program. There will be 12 sessions in total, six before Christmas and six after Christmas. It will commence on Friday 7th November in Carrickasedge Social Centre. Those born in 2000 to 2002   should attend from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. while those born in the years 1997 to 1999  will have the session from  9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Coaches will make contact with all players in advance. A fully qualified instructor from Carrick Fitness Centre will be the trainer. The benefits of the programme include….reduce the risk of injury, strength gains  to allow players to move faster, react quicker as well as be more powerful,  improved skill execution and  mental strength gains.
Each session will cost €3 per player. The programme will only continue if well supported by the players.
  
 Strictly Christmas Dancing. The launch night for this fund-raising event has been fixed for   Sunday 26th October in the Fiddlers. Proceedings will get under way at 8.00 sharp. The participants will find out on that night who their partners will be for the main event on the 28th December. Come along and show your support for our dancers as they go into strict training for their dancing debuts Entrance is only €5 for what promises to be a great nights craic. A raffle for club merchandise and more will be held on the night.

Coaching. Anyone interested in coaching from Under 8 – Under18 must have a minimum of the foundation coaching course completed. Those who have the foundation course completed should consider taking the Level One course. Ideally, one coach in each age category should have a Level One course completed. Junior Academy. Our Junior Academy has commenced for all young people born in 2008 and 2009. More than 50 players attended the first two sessions. Thanks to all coaches and parents for helping to make it such a success. Remember that there are six weeks remaining before Christmas break.
