We had no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 10, 11, 20 and 25. The four lucky dip winners were Niall McMahon, Lucy Doogan, Charlotte Maguire-Goodman and Siobhan Connor and each win €50. Our next jackpot is for €1900 and the draw will take place in the Meeting Room on Monday evening.
You can do the lotto via the usual outlets and online at www.magheracloonemitchells.ie. Thank you to all our lotto sellers who sell and all our lotto buyers who buy, it’s much appreciated.
Our U6’s and U7’s Academy season ended on Friday evening last. After the excitement of a brilliant weekend the Saturday before when Ratoath visited, we finished off with a light session and a game amongst ourselves. We would like to thank Fiona Kindlon of Farney Sports and Injury Clinic for sponsoring sweet treats and fruit bags for all involved after the session. We would like to thank the parents for their patience during the year with the inconvenience of not having a fixed base to train on. Earlier in the season a few different venues were visited, and we really appreciate the effort put in by everybody. Also, a big thank you to all the coaches for their excellent efforts all year. And lastly, the future stars who turned out on a weekly basis, their persistence and effort every week was top drawer and in all the games we played the progression was there to be seen by all. The future of our club is looking bright. We wish the older 7s the very best as they graduate to U9’s next season and the U6s who jump up to U7’s. We look forward to seeing the new recruits who start in the coming season.
U11s finished their season on Saturday last in the Brendan Colton Tournament in Emyvale. Both our teams qualified for the Cup competition after the group stages and it was both Kildress teams that beat them both in the quarter final and final respectively. Although we fell short in final, we were awarded the Overall Skill Award which is a huge achievement.
Well done to all the players, parents and coaches.
2019 was a very enjoyable and successful season, one where we focused mainly on the core skills and their development improved weekly. We acquitted ourselves excellently in both the Spring League and Liam Stirrat Development League. We would like to thank parents for their time, efforts and cooperation. We thank also Inver College and Scoil Bhríde for the use of their facilities while we were awaiting the opening of our new training facilities.
Finally, to the young stars involved, they were an amazing group to work with, full of characters and their manners and respect for each other was exceptional. The future of our club is bright.
Our U15’s finished their season on Saturday last in the Division 1 County Final. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the result with the score line reading Carrick 3-15 Magheracloone 3-07.
This group of players can take plenty from the season finishing third in the league having three years previously played in Division 2 and at the first time of asking reached a Division 1 Final. The management involved would like to thank our neighbouring clubs for the use of their facilities and a special thanks to the parents, you all make it happen. Also, a big thanks to Justins shop for sponsoring the Isotonic drinks for the lads in the final.
